JOB SUMMARY

Two-a-Day is seeking a Maintenance Fitter. This permanent, monthly remunerated vacancy exists in our Engineering Department (Mechanical Division). The ideal candidate should be a motivated self-starter, a strong team player, well-organised, and capable of working across multiple departments.

The key performance areas, performed within a team context, include:

Planned Maintenance & Projects

  • Conduct planned maintenance tasks as on planned maintenance schedules
  • Complete work as required from job cards issued.

Preventative Maintenance

  • Perform weekly checks and test run equipment after completion or set intervals ensuring equipment is always in good running condition.

Breakdown maintenance & Standby

  • All breakdowns to receive immediate action
  • Call Outs – Provide assistance when required

Safety

  • Support to SHE officer in ensuring compliance with all SHE regulations and procedures therefor having a good understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Trade-tested Mechanical Fitter (Red Seal or equivalent qualification)
  • Qualified Fitter and Turner and/or Millwright (Red Seal preferred)
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or packhouse environment
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, conveyors, and processing equipment
  • Experience with hydraulics and especially pneumatics
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Basic welding and fabrication experience advantageous
  • Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and weekends during peak season
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards (e.g., OHS Act)
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
